Hello! I am Victor Xue, a film and game composer. I love exploring the possibilities of storytelling through music, creating unique sonic experiences carefully crafted for each independent film. I am able to empathize with the subtlest emotions in a scene and connect visuals with feelings through my own musical language.

I wanted to pursue a music career professionally, so I went to an art high school (Walnut Hill School for the Arts) to study composition with Whitman Brown. Then I completed my bachelor’s degree in the Film Scoring program at Berklee College of Music on a scholarship awarded by the college. I was also selected as one of the composers in the HIB Scoring Program in Beijing, where I was mentored by Kristopher Carter and Òscar Senén.

My work ranges from indie films and animations to feature films. I was hired as the orchestrator for the film Mumu, which was shown in theatres worldwide and released on Tencent Video, iQIYI, and Amazon Prime Video. It was fantastic to work with the same composer again on our next project together. I am also the main composer for a feature film, No Escape, which I just finished scoring and is currently in the pre-publishing stage. In addition, I scored the official opening sequence for the FIRST Film Festival (2024) in China, which played before each screening.

I’m deeply passionate about scoring for media, and it is extremely rewarding to create something meaningful through collaboration. I look forward to working with filmmakers, game developers, and creative teams to bring unique visions to life!
