Hello! My name is Shriya; welcome to my page!

I am a film composer and flautist originally from Plymouth, Minnesota, and I recently finished my studies at Berklee College of Music, where I completed a dual major in Screen Scoring and Flute Performance.

Coming from an orchestral background, I grew up on the music of composers like Debussy and Ravel, which sparked my love for expressive and colorful textures and orchestrations. I also grew up on classic rock, especially Led Zeppelin, which fostered my passion for creating immersive and lush sonic landscapes with my music. Combining these influences, I love blending classical sounds with modern technology and sound design to craft distinctive and emotionally resonant scores.

I’ve had the pleasure of composing for several short films and various chamber groups, and I love projects that call for collaboration, strong melodies, and unique sound palettes. As a flautist, I love working with sweeping themes, touching melodies, and creative orchestration. Whether I’m writing for a full orchestra or weaving in experimental textures and electronic elements, I aim to create a unique sound world tailored to each story. Some of my biggest influences include James Newton Howard, Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, John Murphy, and John Williams, and some film scores I love include Bones and All, Revenge of the Sith, The Crimes of Grindlewald, and Rogue One

At Berklee, I’ve served as principal flautist and arranger for the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra and the film scoring studio orchestra, which has given me the amazing opportunity to explore several sides of the scoring process. Whether I’m performing the score or behind the scenes, I love every step of bringing film and stories to life through music and sound.

Thanks for stopping by, I’m excited to continue composing and collaborating at USC!
