Hi I am Markus, good to meet you!

For me, music is magic. It is a spell that captivates heart and mind, gives a story a soul and moves us deep inside. When I get goosebumps from music I know it hits the mark.

I have felt this way all my life, started composing at age 8, had my first composition publicly performed at age 10 and never stopped. Music is in my head all day long, just waiting to be born. Growing up in Germany I was strongly influenced by European culture, movies and music but also love many of the great American film composers.

I am fascinated by both the worlds of live recording and electronic sound. Since I built my first home studio with hardware synths and a multitrack tape machine, I have refined and evolved my craft, recorded with countless session musicians and played in and live recorded with orchestras. I love all stages of the creative process, from inception to composition, production and engineering.

I completed my undergraduate studies in film scoring, orchestration and songwriting at Berklee College of Music. I also hold a degree in computer science.

While I love making intriguing music with just my many plugins and software synths, what makes my heart pound is combining digital sound with live orchestra, collaborating with session musicians, vocalists and lyricists to capture the finest nuance of performance that evokes the deepest of emotion.

Please check out my portfolio on this page, and/or visit my website or Instagram.

For recreation I love running, hiking and skiing.

Let me be part of your vision of taking your audience to another world that will profoundly move them. Looking forward to hearing about your project and bringing your dream to life!
