Hi, I’m Isha Asabe — a Los Angeles–based composer and USC Screen Scoring graduate student writing music for short films, thrillers, comedies, rom-coms, and coming-of-age stories.

I love collaborating closely with directors to shape music that supports character, emotion, and pacing — whether the story is intimate and nostalgic, playful and romantic, or tense and unsettling. My work blends orchestral, electronic, and acoustic textures, allowing the score to feel emotionally honest and story-driven rather than decorative.

My work has been recognized in international call-for-score competitions and recorded with professional musicians in Los Angeles. I’ve conducted and recorded original scores at United Recording, scored award-winning short films, and collaborated with filmmakers across the U.S. and India.

Raised between India and the U.S., and trained in both Western orchestration and Indian classical music, I bring a cross-cultural perspective to storytelling. I’m especially drawn to short films that explore identity, relationships, memory, and transition — stories that live in quiet moments as much as big ones.

If you’re looking for a composer who cares deeply about story and collaboration, I’d love to work with you.
