Finn Clarke

Finn Clarke is a screen composer from Tasmania, Australia. Think Taz from Looney Tunes.
He was nominated for Best Music for an Advertisement at the 2024 Australian Screen Music Awards, won the Grand Diemen: Digital and Sound Design categories at the 2025 Diemen Awards, and received the Award of Excellence at the 2023 Accolade Global Film Competition.
Finn’s screen credits include The Raftsmen (SFF 25), The Platypus Guardian (PBS), I’m So Sorry for Your Loss (ABC Australia), and Moonbird (SBS Australia). He was awarded the 2025-26 Brian May Scholarship, Music Australia’s 2024 Export Development Fund and the 2023 Regional Screen in LA Scholarship. In addition to his composing work, Finn co-founded the Tasmanian Media Composers Collective and serves as a board member for the not-for-profit Apple Box Studio.
Finn’s eclectic musical background includes playing violin in orchestras and folk bands, and shredding electric violin in a dubstep duo. He later studied classical composition at the UTAS Conservatorium of Music and has freelanced for several years as a location sound recordist (Deadloch, The Survivors, Muster Dogs). These experiences inform a musical style that blends classical melodicism, minimalist structures, creative sound design, and folk traditions.
In his spare time, Finn enjoys hiking, windsurfing, and patting cats.
