Shengyuan Li is a composer and music producer specializing in film, television, and video game scoring. His musical journey began at the age of 13 with a deep passion for percussion. He studied a wide range of instruments including snare drum, marimba, timpani, triangle, and traditional Chinese percussion. That same year, he joined the Shanghai Youth Symphony Orchestra as principal percussionist, a position he held for nearly eight years. This immersive orchestral experience sparked his love for orchestration and storytelling through music.

At 15, Shengyuan developed a strong interest in electronic music, leading him to explore music production and synthesizer programming. In 2020, he began his undergraduate studies at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, majoring in Technology and Applied Composition (TAC), where he deepened his skills in media scoring, sound design, and interactive music systems.

In 2024, Shengyuan continued his education at the University of Southern California's Screen Scoring program, one of the most prestigious graduate programs in film composition. During his time at USC, he worked on a variety of film, animation, and video game projects—collaborating with student directors, game developers, and animators to create music that enhances visual storytelling across genres.

Shengyuan’s work has received recognition in international scoring competitions. He was awarded 4th Prize in the Leicine International Scoring Competition, placed in the Top 10 of the 2023 Berlin International Film Scoring Competition, and won 1st Place in the 2023 Indie Film Music Contest.

Today, Shengyuan continues to combine his background in orchestral performance, electronic music production, and scoring for media to create emotionally resonant, stylistically diverse music for visual storytelling.
