emailweb site

At the age of 13, Shengyuan Li developed a great interest in percussion and began to learn all percussion instruments such as snare drums, marimba, timpani, triangle, and even traditional Chinese percussions as his start of his music career. In the same year, he joined the Shanghai Youth Symphony Orchestra as the principal percussionist and stayed with the orchestra for about eight years. This experience also led him to fall in love with orchestral music and to learn to orchestrate and write orchestral music. At 15, his love for electronic music made him turn to learning music production and synthesizer. He went to continue his undergraduate music career at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in the fall of 2020 in the Technology and Applied Composition Program.

During his studies in SFCM, he participated actively in scoring competitions and achieved the fourth prize in the Leicine international scoring competition. Top 10 in the 2023 Berlin international Film Scoring Competition Top 1 in the 2023 Indie Film Music Contest
