Marcus Leitner is a composer and electronic musician based in Los Angeles, CA.

A skilled synthesist and lifelong piano and violin player, Marcus has developed from this rich background a distinct voice blending electronic and acoustic instruments into complex and evolving soundscapes. At home working in the studio, leading orchestras, and performing live, this versatility has allowed Marcus to build a varied repertoire as a composer, working on short films from comedies to sci-fi thrillers and performing live dark ambient music.

Marcus has collaborated with numerous directors across the Bay Area, most recently finishing work on the short film Raise the Bar and a long-form narrative project Nothing is 100%.

Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Marcus studied at the University of California, Santa Cruz, majoring in Western Art Music and minoring in Electronic Music. He is excited to further his skills as a composer by pursuing his Master's in Screen Scoring at USC this fall.
