Jose Kropp is a Florida native; he knows how to take the heat! Jose holds Bachelor of Music degrees in both Composition and Commercial Music from Florida State University. Outside of his collegiate studies, Jose has worked as a freelance composer, scoring numerous films ranging in style and character. Jose has won a Regional Emmy award in 2018 for his music in the PSA “Child Sexual Abuse Prevention – Lauren’s Kids,” which aired on all major TV networks in Florida. His lively Latin score for the feature-length documentary “The Spirit of Miami” aired on NBC Miami in 2018 and is set for national release in late 2019.
Jose has long been passionate about film scoring and is always interested in finding new sounds or unique style fusions to give a film its perfect and unique voice. Some of Jose’s favorite films include Star Wars, Edward Scissorhands, The Pianist, The Lord of the Rings, and absolutely anything by Christopher Nolan, Ryan Coogler, or Barry Jenkins. Aside from film scoring, Jose loves jamming out to musicals, kayaking, and sitting down with a friend for coffee.
