Screen Scoring

Hello, I've worked as a freelance composer in Los Angeles for the last few years, and I've had the opportunity to score over a dozen feature films. Many of these films have garnered various accolades, and have premiered at film festivals around the world such as South by Southwest, the Rome Film Festival, the AFI/Discovery Channel SilverDocs Festival in DC--as well as many others. In 2009, I won the 'Best Score' award from the Action on Film International Film Festival for the film 'Purge'; and in 2011, from the Los Angeles International Film Festival, for my work on the film 'Beirut...Hide and Seek'. In addition to film work, I've licensed music on television shows and trailers for networks such as Fox, NBC, ABC and many others.

I studied formally at the University of Texas and I've also studied composition and orchestration privately with Dr. Ken Walicki. Additionally, I have a large background in songwriting.

I'm influenced by composers such as Alexandre Desplat, Dario Marianelli, Gustavo Santaolalla, Jon Brion, John Adams, Steve Reich, as well as modern groups like Explosions in the Sky, Imogen Heap and Sigur Ros--and ostensibly, many many others.

I play a lot of guitar, piano and a few other plucked stringed instruments.

Please send me an email if you'd like to chat. There is also more information on my website. Cheers!
