Welcome to my profile! My name is John Carey, and I am a young, up and coming composer in the film music scene. Since I was a kid, I have grown to love movies and film music, and pursuing a career as a composer for Film, Television and Video Games is a goal that I have and will work towards over the next few years.
I love challenging myself and pushing the envelope for every project I work on, with the hope that every day is a new learning experience. I enjoy finding ways to incorporate a wide variety of styles and genres ranging from classical, rock, film music, electronic and even heavy metal. One of my biggest creative goals is to bridge the gap between traditional techniques of orchestration, harmony and thematic development with modern sound engineering techniques and digital technology.

Currently, I am living in Los Angeles where I am attending school at the University of Southern California for Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television. When I am not focusing on my school work, I am always trying to find ways to build my career as a composer, producer, orchestrator and conductor for film, television and video games. My friends and peers know me for my strong work ethic and dedication to music, as well as my friendliness and sense of humor. I love enjoying the company of my friends and family! I also try to give myself some spare time to enjoy my other hobbies in life, such as playing video games, exercising, exploring, skiing and relaxing.
