Composer Ben Mason is from Atlanta, Georgia. Before his move to Atlanta, he attended the Peabody Institute at Johns Hopkins University, where he studied piano, violin, and composition and was awarded a Bachelor and Masters of Music in Composition. Ben also holds a Masters of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Georgia.

Ben has been commissioned as a composer by various groups and has premiered works at events such as the Organ Historical Society Convention. Additionally, he works as an orchestrator, arranger, pianist, and organist. He has played with orchestras and soloists, and he loves the art of collaboration. Ben looks forward to collaborating with other musicians and directors at USC and using music to draw an emotional and aesthetic connection to the visual art of film.
