Adam Hochstatter

I was born in Fargo, North Dakota and lived there for 23 years. I attended Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota where I receive my Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Theory and Composition. My main instrument is Jazz Piano/Organ and I have been playing since I was 14. I was also principal bassoonist at Concordia College for several years. I studied with Dr. Daniel Breedon, Dr. Steve Makela, Dr. Rene Clausen, Simon Rowe and Russell Peterson while attending Concordia College.
I have been writing music for 7 years and my compositional experience ranges from solo instrument to full orchestra + jazz ensemble. I love to write jazz and orchestral music with lush harmonic structures, and I also enjoy writing choral music. I have a huge interest in learning about how to balance synthetic and organic sounds in film scores, and also working with traditional and non-traditional sounds in order to create soundscapes that evoke interesting and new imagery.
