Born in Las Vegas, NV and based in Los Angeles, CA, Joshua Ginsburg is a multifaceted composer and trumpet player. While pursuing his original voice as a hybrid musician, Josh draws influence from both his background as an orchestral composer and as a Jazz musician. He takes inspiration from the constantly evolving Jazz tradition in addition to the widespread screen scoring genre. Some of his largest influences include: (Film) John Williams, Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri; (Jazz) Jim McNeely, Chris Potter, Miles Davis. He views all aspects of sound and music as different elements that can be explored and incorporated as a performing musician and composer. With a Bachelors of Music in Jazz Studies/Trumpet (Magna Cum Laude) and a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies/Trumpet (Summa Cum Laude) from the University of Southern California, Josh will be pursuing a Masters of Music in Screen Scoring from USC in the Spring of 2021.
Some recent notable works include scorings of two commercials and a documentary for the company "MSCLT," in addition to the short film "Do Us Part" by Phoebe Neidhart.
