Stephanie Kowal is an emerging screen composer from Toronto, Canada. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Queen’s University and consistently writes for student and independent projects. Most recently, she was commissioned to compose the score for the world’s largest virtual reality exhibit at Toronto’s Fort York National Historic Site which will be launching in the summer of 2016. On top of her own projects in 2016, she completed a mentorship with the highly acclaimed Toronto composer John Welsman through the Apprentice Mentorship Program run by the Screen Composer’s Guild of Canada. With a strong affinity towards orchestral music and a passion for the screen, Stephanie has participated in the Orchestral Reading Session run by the SCGC three years in a row and was selected to participate in the 2015 ASCAP/NYU Film Scoring Workshop in New York City. She can't wait to continue to collaborate on more and more varied projects, experiment with new techniques and share her unique voice as a composer.
