Gabriel DiMarco is a classically trained composer and cellist from Washington D.C., currently residing in Pasadena, CA. His most recent collaboration with director, Chris McGuinness, on the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Lifetime Achievement Trophy Award docufilm will be screened at the Smithsonian museum IMAX theater in Washington D.C. later this year. His most recent film, Stairways, by award-winning director, Juan Martinez Vera, has been selected for the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. Some of Gabriel's other notable work includes over 60 minutes of music for Herblock's Editorial Cartoon Exhibitions DVD where his music had to depict the character of the major political topics of the 20th Century, including Education, Civil Rights, the Presidency, Environment, and Democracy through the lens of famous political cartoonist, Herbert Block. In addition to his own film projects, Gabriel assists Emmy Award winning composer, Bear McCreary as a scoring contractor for additional music on the STARZ network television shows, Outlander and Da Vinci's Demons. He has also worked for composer John Frizzell on the FOX network television show, The Following (starring Kevin Bacon) and CBS's new thriller, Stalker (starring Dylan McDermott).

As a cellist with a wide range of styles, Gabriel performs on many of his own scores but also performs for his friends and colleagues, including award-winning, LA-based Venezuelan composer, Elik Alvarez. He has played with numerous orchestras including the Georgetown Symphony Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Southern Maryland, and the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra, where he played as principal cellist. He has also been a member of the St. Charles String Quartet in Washington D.C.. Gabriel is currently a member of the Atlantic String Ensemble in Los Angeles.

Gabriel holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Cello Performance and Music Composition from The Catholic University of America, Benjamin T. Rome School of Music in Washington D.C. Gabriel bolstered his career as a graduate of the prestigious Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television (SMPTV) program at the University of Southern California (USC). At USC he studied with renowned composers, among which included Bruce Broughton, Christopher Young, and Gary Schyman.

Gabriel's scores are powerful, grasp the inner emotions of viewers while capturing the dramatic essence and character of film. He has a strong passion to write for true life stories that are meaningful and carry a revitalizing message and is eager to collaborate with filmmakers who are looking to make their stories memorable and compelling.
